We had a huge time on tour this summer– to all you beautiful people who we briefly connected with: we’ll be back (that means you, Las Vegas). Now we’re pumped to announce that we’ll be playing a set at this year’s I AM Festival in New London, CT on Saturday 9/8, alongside some amazing bands including Hospitality, Dom, Bear Hands, and Bearstronaut. For updates and more information visit the I AM Fest website.
We’ve been to I AM every year as audience members, so we’re stoked to be onstage this time around. We’ll be posted up in Ernie’s and The Dutch ’til we have to hit the stage, naturally … See you there.

Our sophomore album Ghost Hits is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Rhapsody! A bunch of tracks from this puppy are also streaming for free on our website. Scope it, we hope you dig. We’ll have physical copies up the wazoo for our CD Release show coming up at the Rock Shop in Brooklyn. Tickets and info here. Smang Dallas.
We also have a brand spanking new music video for the song “Crazy Align” which you can view here.
Check out our Shows page for updates on summer shows. We’ll be adding a bunch soon!
We were sitting around in the Brooklyn heat recently and contemplated how we could get sweatier, since summertime is upon us. Someone mentioned going on tour, and it was agreed upon that shlumping across country in a van would be a great way to up the sweat ante. Stay tuned to our McShows page for updates.
After over a year of work, we’d like to announce our sophomore release on super duper records, which is called Ghost Hits. It’s coming out on June 12th, 2012. We’re excited for you to hear it. In the meantime, here’s the artwork, tracklisting, and a little something from our upcoming video by Ricky Shabazz. Stay tuned for more stuff …

You may ask yourself, “What’s going on with that band, Shake the Baron? What have they been up to?” Well, you saxy music-lover, we’ve been up to quite a bit! We’ve sequestered ourselves in our basement and in various Brooklyn sound spots for the past year, feverishly writing and recording new music. Too much new music in fact … so much music that it’s bursting from our hard drives, flooding our basement studio, collecting in our brains and oozing out of our ears. We can’t wait to give it to you.
Good news is, it’s almost done! We start mixing next week with the talented Justin Gerrish, and then it’s on to all the other stuff– like artwork, titles, wine pairings, etc. We promise we’ll keep you posted with updates. We’re so proud of this album and we think you’ll dig too.

We are happy to announce the release of our first full length album. Digital downloads can be found on iTunes as well as Amazon, hard copies will be available at our live shows.
The Deli Magaine said that our “self-titled debut displays the band’s talent for layering harmonies and creating an unmistakably good vibe throughout … [it] has the polished, established feel of a sophomore or junior album.” The Album Project said, “Obviously bred from the sweat of an indie brow, Shake the Baron’s self-titled album explores both the melancholy and upbeat … you’ve got a lot to love from this debut.”
